Happy Easter 2023

Cushions Galore, April 9th 2023

Hello, it is great to be back.

I hope you are all having a good year so far and I would like to wish you all a Happy Easter.

I think it has been a very long time since I sent out my last newsletter but hope you have all still enjoyed crafting and making things.

I have been changing my website slightly to explore cushions that you can buy from different outlets and some of the aspects that you still need to take into consideration. I felt I was leaning too much on the making side and forgetting the instant change buying ones can have.

I have also been working behind the scenes, so to speak, improving the website pages I have and adding a few more.

I have also been adding Youtube videos to some of my knitting pages. At times it is difficult to write an explanation down for the step you are doing hence showing how it is done on the videos. #cushionsandmore241 on you tube.

I have a new advertiser on my site called GB Foam and they provide cut to size foam blocks for all sorts of cushions. This could be very useful if a cushion on your settee is getting a bit out of shape. Visit my squab cushion page for their link www.cushionsandmore.com/squab-cushions.html

I also have a new affiliate called Abakhan. They offer a lot of things for crafters.

My knitting skills have been tested with making different headwear to keep the grandchildren warm over the winter and crocheting blankets is always a good task to take on when the weather is cold.

I have also been trying to implement more of a waste free life by making reusable items like the fabric make up remover pads, no paper towels instead of the usual paper towels for the kitchen. I made some for my son and his family and they say they only use these as they wash and wear really well.

Everything I do I think about making it slightly better for the planet, sometimes it works

I have now started to sort my cupboards out and have begun to cut out hexagons so far I have no plans how to use them but that is for another day.

Patchwork is great for using up oddments of fabric and a great craft to continue to do or for the complete novice. I have shown how to do a few well known blocks like the sail boat, bow tie and Dutchman's puzzle. I will try to do some different block as there is so many out there that make beautiful cushions or quilts.

May 2023 brings a new celebration with the Kings coronation, hope you all have bunting to hang up in celebration, enjoy watching this event on television with friends and family and hope the weather is good. For many this will be an event never seen before.

I will keep this newsletter short for now until I get back fully.

Take care.

Enjoy all the coming celebrations

Warm regards

EJ
